The Woods-

Wind’s Creek was a town which resided next to a dense and deep wood; residents of the community stayed far away from it and warned the next generation about it. Legend goes that those who venture into the woods shall meet a terrible faith. Everybody feared the Woods, but those who would be foolish enough to go there would meet the Wendigo…. The fear of the name made even the strongest men scream. One day, Neo a boy around sixteen years old walked slowly in direction of the woods. He grew angrier by the minute, he and his friends got into a petty argument leading him to stray away from the town. Neo without having knowledge of his surroundings stepped into the woods which none dared to.

Angelica spoke up “Guys, We ought to forgive Neo.” Gray just huffed and puffed. Joey spoke up “Yeah, Me too. He can be rude at times but he’s still our friends.” Jada shrugged and said “Fine with me. What about you Gray.” “Fine. Let’s find him.” Gray responded.

Max told “I saw him heading towards the Woods.” Everybody’s eyes almost popped out of their sockets. Gray’s teeth started to chatter while Jada and Angelica were sweating bullets. Joey gulped in response. Max’s whispered “We have to guys, or else he’ll be the food of the W-Wend-“Before he could whisper the name, his mouth was shut by Joey. Joey said “F-Fine then but don’t say its name.” They started to move in the direction of the Woods until Gray stopped dead in his tracks. He told “I-If you guys want to sacrifice your lives then go ahead. I’m going home.” Protests were heard by Gray from the others but he declined to save Neo. Max said “Then fine, let’s go guys and find Neo.” Angelica said “Let’s get some weapons first!” Everyone nodded and went to ‘Mr. Pickle’s Utensils!’

After being relaxed, Neo gulped as he noticed his surroundings, It was the dreaded woods. He then heard a twig snap behind him, he bolted further running deeper into the woods. He then fell face first into a puddle of mud. Neo groaned and got up , he was slimy and disgusting. He slowly strolled until he heard a whimper coming from his right. He then dove into a bush. He muttered to himself “Oh God, please forgive my sins and save me from this danger.” He then heard loud footsteps on the ground. With the grace of the Sun, he saw a horn and then goose bumps ignited on his body and his hair stood up. The creature passed him as it went on its journey. His teeth continued to chatter and Neo prayed again “Oh god, please get me out of this situation.”

A chuckle escaped the mouth of Mr. Pickle and he spoke up “What can I do for you, kiddos?” Jada spoke up first “Actually, Mr. Pickle we need w-weapons.” Mr. Pickle spoke up “Oh, Weapons? For what reason?” The sixteen year olds whispered to each other and Max said “Uh for safety of our family from You-Know-What.” Mr.Pickle chuckled and spoke “But that’s your parents job but oh well, grab anything you like. It’s on the house!” They group nodded. In sometime they were walking towards the Woods, Max figuring out how to use his harpoon, Jada swinging a knife in her hand, Joey having a machete in hand and Angelica holding a shotgun ready to shoot anything dangerous.

Neo was out of his bush and took quiet steps but fast ones. He then heard a noise behind him. He turned around and was relieved in joy it was his friends. He gave a grin to them and Angelica spoke up “What’s up, Loser!” Joey with a smile told “Come with us if you want to live.” Neo nodded but a shriek was heard towards their left. It was the Wendigo. In a panic to save their hides, they split their ways. Neo, Angelica and Joey went north while Jada and Max went diagonally.

While that Gray was playing with his dog in his backyard, until the dog bolted towards the Woods, Gray exclaimed “Spencer! Come back here, boy!” following him.

Neo groaned as he was lost again but at least he had Angelica and Joey with him. Another shriek was heard, the trio dashed deeper into the woods and hid behind several thick layers of bushes. Their heartbeat was intense. They heard footsteps behind them, sniffing the air. Neo and Joey’s teeth began to chatter but Angelica clutched their mouths together and whispered “Don’t Move or make any sound.” Another bone shivering shriek was let out by the Wendigo and it went to search for prey. The trio slowly got up and tiptoed out of there. They then heard a horse neigh. They looked to the right to see centaurs. The leader, who had black hair and a goatee, spoke up “Who are thee!” He asked it as if it was not a question but a command. Angelica raised her shotgun and told “Say hello to my little friend.” She was about to shoot when Neo grabbed the gun out of her hands and said “I am Neo, the girl is Angelica and that’s Joey.” The centaur snorted and spoke “So, thee are Human, aren’t thou.” Neo slowly nodded. The Centaur neighed and said “I am Askaban, the leader of the clan thou human call centaurs.” A woman centaur spoke up “Children, thou not know that the Wendigo venture thou Woods.” Joey replied “We know it ma’am but our foolish friend over here ventured into these woods and we came to his rescue.” Neo grumbled at the statement. “Thou should stay with us until the next dawn. That is time the Wendigo does not hunt for the likes of thee.” The trio hesitantly nodded. They were lead to the site of the centaurs; there was a fire with about hundreds of centaurs close to them. Askaban made a deep but lovely neigh and spoke out in a commanding tone “Let thy feast begin!” Everybody began to dig in especially the trio. After finishing their meal, Neo began to feel dizzy; Angelica and Joey felt it too. Joey spoke “Uh, I-Is there something in the d-drink?” moving here and there like a drunkard. Askaban chuckled and spoke “Thy are stupid. We have fooled thou! Now Yakan shall stop consuming us!” Angelica was about to grab her shotgun but her hand got slammed by a centaur and the trio fell into a deep slumber.

Meanwhile,

Jada and Max venture deeper. They met a faun. He got scared and dropped the wood he was holding in his hands and shouted “Blimey! Don’t kill me.” The duo shrugged until they heard a roar from behind the faun, a lion stood right there in front of their eyes. Max got his harpoon ready to shoot when the faun said “Wait! Aslan’s not evil you see.” Max lowered his harpoon and spoke “Where’s the evidence?” Aslan spoke up “Is this enough? I’m a talking lion you see.” Jada dropped her knife on the ground and gasped. She walked over to Aslan and started to pet him. Aslan grumbled but then started to purr. Max exclaimed “Wow, an oversized house cat.” The faun spoke up “I’m Crispello. You can call me Chris for short.” Jada asked “What are both of you doing in these woods.” Chris replied “Well, until the Wendigo came , Aslan was the ruler. Now everyone is in fear of the creature as its main prey is human but after having legends of it now humans are vary. It has started eating every inhabitant. Only Aslan can defeat it.” Max nodded and spoke “Why don’t you get any of the inhabitants to join force with the big house cat over there and defeat the W-W” “Wendigo.” Aslan finished the sentence of Max while still purring.

Chris sighed and sat on a rock “We’ve been cut down by it, now half of the population remains. The Centaurs are too selfish to help, the ogres are rude and uncanny, fairies are well hidden, The Yakan has been missing for years, Us Fauns are nearly extinct, the tree giants are in deep slumber and finally Aslan is the only one remaining of his clan. But, every time an uprising has started against the Wendigo, a new one always takes its place.”

Aslan spoke “You kids ought to stay here for now. Let time pass and the Wendigo will stop looking for you.” Max questioned “How did you know we were being-“before being cut off by the talking lion “Sense of sight and your posture and reaction of your face. You’re all tired.”

Jada said “B-But our friends. They are in danger.”

Neo and Angelica awoke and got up being chained together, and Joey lying down still. They looked around as the centaurs were laughing and cheering.

They looked at the front of them, a gate was their closed by wood. A centaur exclaimed “Your weapons are strapped to your backs! Even if you could reach them you’re a goner.” Angelica gritted her teeth and then she heard a sound of a bull’s breathe, she looked at the gate when a big black bull with horns pointing upwards. It ran towards them fast. Neo and Angelica screamed and tried to move apart. The Bull ran through their chains and they got stuck on it’s horns.

Joey awoke and screamed in far as the Bull charged at him , hitting him pelvic region. He screamed in agony and fell on top of it’s hump. He grabbed it’s horn for safety. Neo and Angelica were dangling from the bull. Joey lead the Yakan or the bull out of the Centaur camp as the centaurs ran out of the way to protect their lives. The Yakan destroyed half of the camp. Askaban shouted “DAMN THY HUMANS!” A branch from a tree fell and hit his head rendering him unconscious.

The trio screamed as the Yakan moved at bullet speed in the direction of the shriek of the Wendigo. They screamed louder. They would nonetheless either by the Yakan or the Wendigo.

Meanwhile,

Jada heard a shriek which was coming in closer and closer to them. Aslam roared at something behind them, Chris got his tomahawk out.

Max and Jada turned around very slowly and saw the Wendigo. It was bony as can be and it was covered in black goo. It just screamed ‘Death Metal’. It stepped slowly towards them, each step making a small tremor.

Max shouted “Take this you freak!” He shot his harpoon at it but the Wendigo caught it and crushed in his hands.

Aslan spoke “Move out of the way, I’ll handle him.” Aslan jumped down on the ground and roared which could be heard by everyone in the town.

The two creatures circled each other when the sound of hooves and screams could be heard, The Yakan charged in, Neo and Angelica broke away from their chains and fell with a loud bang, The Yakan then proceeded to kick Joey off which screamed in the air falling on his bum and moaned in pain. The bull then slammed into the Wendigo which got crushed by the force of it’s head being slammed onto a giant rock behind him. The Bull gave a snort.

Max screamed “Neo!” Neo replied “Jada!” Angelica said “Hey Goat man and Lion.” Joey said “Uh…….” The Wendigo kicked the Yakan which infuriated it. Aslan spoke up “Stay back.” Joey exclaimed “The lion talks!” The Yakan charged at the Wendigo who grabbed onto its horns and threw the bull on the ground. The bull got up and smashed the head of the Wendigo and slammed it into the ground. The Yakan gave a warcry and stepped on the Wendigo.

Aslan spoke “Yakan! Enough!” The Yakan turned around and looked at Aslan bowed.

The Wendigo gave a shriek and got up, throwing the Yakan to a side.

Angelica spoke up “Say Hello to my little friend, Wendigo!” She shot the Wendigo in the chest and then repeated it once again. The creature screamed in pain and charged at Angelica but was hit by the Yakan with Joey on top shouting “YIPPEEE KAY YAY!” The blow broke the rib cage of the Wendigo. The man eating creature got up and groaned. Max shot a harpoon through it but the creature was unaffected. The Wendigo grew irritated and kicked the Yakan at the humans.

The group of friends groaned and moaned in pain as the Yakan fell on them.

Chris charged at the Wendigo with his tomahawk in hand and cut off one of its arms. The Wendigo got ahold of the faun but was nearly decapitated by the tomahawk. It gave a shriek and charged at Chris but the faun with its hooves kicked it back and slammed his tomahawk into the chest, embedding it for good.

Aslan roared and jumped onto the Wendigo and spoke “Any last words.” The Wendigo gave a piercing scream and then Aslan bit it’s head off and using his claws destroying the body.

Neo spoke “Wait the heart’s beating!” Aslan said “I know, we need wood. We’ll burn the heart alive to make sure.” The group nodded as Yakan got off and left. They collected huge bundles of firewood. They dropped it in one place and Chris put the heart of the Wendigo on top and with a lighter they burnt it alive.

Aslan spoke “Now, let me take you all home.” Neo and the rest nodded. They followed Aslan until they reached the entrance of the Woods. The group left thanking Chris and Aslan. They sighed; they went along on a big and scary adventure to save Neo. It was worth it.

Meanwhile,

Gray found himself in the Woods lost and without Spencer. He heard a creak and looked to find Mr. Pickle, Gray asked “Mr. Pickle, have you seen Spencer?” Mr. Pickle chuckled “No. But I found my food.” Gray confused tilted his head. Then Mr. Pickle turned into the Wendigo. Gray got frightened. The Wendigo spoke in a demonic voice “I’m the new Wendigo, Gray.” The smell of urine was in the air. Gray had soiled his pants real badly. He was then grabbed by his leg and was dangling in the air and the Wendigo spoke “I’m going to stop terrorizing the Woods but one last meal. I don’t like kids who betray their friends.”

Gray screamed in agony as he was eaten alive by the Wendigo. The Wendigo then converted back to Mr. Pickle and picked up Spencer who was hiding in the bushes. He started walking back to his shop ‘Mr. Pickle’s Utensils.’ He muttered “Got to charge those kids for taking the stuff for free. What was I thinking when I told it was on the house.” Spencer barked in reply. Mr. Pickle whispered “Hey readers, you wouldn’t mind keeping this secret right? Or I’ll gobble you up ya know.”
